The Security Service of Ukraine reported that two more residents of Kherson were notified in absentia of suspicion after collaborating with the Russian Federation and assuming positions in the illegal bodies of the occupation authorities.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU Department in the Kherson region.
According to the investigation, one of the suspects, while staying in the temporarily occupied territory of Henichesk, became the so‑called deputy minister in the illegally created Ministry of Culture of Kherson Oblast. In this position she participated in public events and meetings organized by the occupation administration and representatives of the pro‑Russian party “United Russia”.
The woman also visited cultural institutions in the temporarily occupied territory, coordinated their activities and provided methodological assistance in the interests of the aggressor state. In addition, in publications in Telegram channels of the so‑called “administrations” she reported on the transfer of books with propagandistic content about “prominent figures” of the Russian Federation to libraries in the Kherson region.
The other suspect assumed the position of the so‑called head of the administrative and technical supervision department in the pseudo‑ministry of natural resources and ecology of the Kherson region. He organized the work of subordinates, developed and approved plans for inspections of enterprises and ensured the implementation of the occupation authorities’ orders in the field of natural resource use and environmental supervision.
SBU investigators have notified both suspects in absentia of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — collaborationist activity. The article’s sanction provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.
It is recalled that Donetsk native Olena Hrushynska, who in 2023 took the post of first deputy of the occupation’s minister of labor and social protection of the Kherson region, was notified of suspicion.
