SBU officers, together with the DBR, detained a Kherson resident who, during the city’s occupation, voluntarily collaborated with the enemy.
This was reported on the social media of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
According to law enforcement, the occupiers then appointed the man to serve in the illegally created “Kherson Detachment of Militarized Guard” on the railway in the regional center seized by the Russians.
It was documented that the man held so-called positions as head of a unit (guard), and later – as a rifleman, where he organized the guard’s duty, deployed personnel to posts and controlled the execution of tasks by subordinates.
After the liberation of Kherson the man lay low at home, trying to avoid punishment. However, SBU officers exposed him, the post says.
He has been notified of suspicion under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity). Investigative actions are ongoing.
