The Security Service of Ukraine has notified eight Ukrainian citizens of suspicion, who, according to investigators, voluntarily took positions in an illegally established law enforcement body of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast.
This was reported in the notices of suspicion on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to pre-trial investigation materials, Vladyslav Shulha in May 2022 voluntarily agreed to work at the so-called «Holoprystan Correctional Colony No. 7». He took the position of junior inspector of the second category of the supervisory group in the security department and carried out the orders of the leaders of the Russian occupation administration.
Similar actions, according to investigators, were carried out by Kyrylo Romanenko, who during the same period also voluntarily took the position of junior inspector of the second category of the supervisory group in the illegally established body «Administration of the Penitentiary Service for Kherson Oblast» and carried out the orders of representatives of the occupation authorities.
The investigation established that Yurii Katran, while on the territory of the village of Nova Zburivka, voluntarily took the position of junior inspector at a penitentiary institution subordinated to the occupation administration and facilitated its functioning.
According to the SBU, Oleksandr Horodetsky in May 2022 agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities and took the position of junior inspector of the supervisory group at the so-called «Holoprystan Correctional Colony No. 7».
A suspicion was also announced to Oleksii Hodyna. Investigators believe that he voluntarily took the position of senior operative in the illegally established body of the Russian Federation’s penitentiary system.
In addition, according to the materials of the criminal proceedings, Serhii Vasiura in May 2022 voluntarily agreed to the position of inspector of the second category of the supervisory group in the structure of the Russian occupation administration in Kherson region.
Another person involved in the case is Yevhen Abramov, who, according to the investigation, voluntarily took the position of junior inspector in the illegal law enforcement body.
All the suspects are accused of voluntarily taking positions in an illegal law enforcement body created in the temporarily occupied territory. Their actions are qualified under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the Desniansky District Court of Chernihiv sentenced Kherson resident Oleh Ostakhovskyi, who during the occupation of the city went into service with the Russians.
