The Security Service of Ukraine has announced suspicion against former inspector of the Department for the Protection of Aquatic Biological Resources from the Kherson region, Yurii Shybaiev.
This is reported on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to investigators, in August 2022 the man voluntarily agreed to take a managerial position in the occupying Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson region.
In particular, Shybaiev became head of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
He is suspected of collaborationist activity for this (part 5 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Note that, according to the NACP registry, before the full-scale invasion Yurii Shybaiev lived in the city of Tavriisk on the left bank of the Kherson region and worked as chief state inspector of the Department for the Protection of Aquatic Biological Resources “Fish Protection Patrol” of the Directorate of the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries in the Mykolaiv region.
Prior to that he also worked as a chief specialist — state inspector for the protection of the environment of the Crimean–Black Sea district of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Crimean–Black Sea district.
