The so-called governor of the occupied part of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, again does not acknowledge humanitarian problems in the city of Oleshky, which is under the control of occupying forces.
In statements to occupation media, Saldo claims that information about a humanitarian catastrophe is “hypocrisy”.
He also rejected proposals by the Ukrainian authorities to declare a ceasefire in order to evacuate civilians from Oleshky and accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of creating harsh conditions for the townspeople.
At the same time, the so-called governor assures that Russia continues to supply Oleshky with essential goods without interruption.
It should be noted that the situation in Oleshky remains critical. The city lacks stable electricity and gas supplies, and access to drinking water is limited. People are forced to conserve basic resources, and the delivery of food is often complicated by the danger of shelling.
According to the latest data from the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, about six thousand civilians, including nearly 200 children, need to be evacuated from Oleshky and nearby areas.
According to Lubinets, Ukraine is currently awaiting the Russian side’s agreement on the date for a ceasefire and the start of evacuation measures. People are planned to be evacuated to territory controlled by Ukraine via an alternative route.
Earlier, the local illegal leadership also did not acknowledge that the city has serious humanitarian problems, and claimed that there are no evacuation measures for the population there.
