The occupying governor of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, said he plans to appeal to the United Nations with a demand to condemn the strike on the settlement of Khorly.
He said this in a comment to pro-Russian media.
According to Saldo, UN Secretary-General António Guterres allegedly expressed «concern about the situation» through his representative; however, according to the occupation authorities, there is currently no access to verify the details of the incident.
The occupying governor also said that after the so-called investigation is completed and evidence is gathered, the information will be forwarded to the UN with a demand for its review and condemnation of the actions of the Ukrainian military.
In Khorly the restaurant “Ukrainian Khata” caught fire, and the nearby hotel “Leo” was also hit. Occupation sources claimed the alleged deaths of 24 people. Later the number of victims increased.
Saldo promised to publish the names of all civilians who died in Khorly.
On January 2, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rejected these accusations. Later Ukrinform sources reported that the strike was directed at legitimate military targets.
At the same time, the Russian side continues to insist on the version that only civilian residents were killed. MOST identified some of the dead earlier. More details about this can be read HERE and HERE.
