The occupying governor of Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo stopped publishing lists of victims killed in Khorly on New Year’s Eve, saying that it is impossible to identify everyone.
This became known from pro-Russian Telegram channels.
According to him, as a result of the fire the bodies of 19 of the deceased were completely destroyed by fire; about 80% of the bodies suffered severe thermal damage, leaving only fragments.
The occupiers also do not publish the list of people considered missing. Thus, the version that Russian military and security personnel could have died in the restaurant and hotel in Khorly — and that the Russians are hiding this — is being reinforced and is receiving new evidence.
Recall, on the night of December 31 to January 1, 2026, the restaurant “Ukrainian Khata” in Khorly burned, and the nearby hotel “Leo” was also damaged. Occupation resources reported the alleged deaths of 24 people. The number of victims later increased.
Saldo promised to publish the names of all civilians who died in Khorly.
On January 2, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rejected these accusations. Later, Ukrinform sources reported that the strike was directed at legitimate military targets.
At the same time, the Russian side continues to insist on the version that only civilian residents were killed. MOST identified some of the dead earlier. You can read more about this HERE and HERE.
