The so-called governor of Kherson Oblast, Volodymyr Saldo, said that after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion the ethnic composition of the region has become “more diverse”.
He said this in an interview with Kremlin-controlled media.
According to Saldo, specialists from various regions of Russia, as well as military personnel, came to work in the occupied part of the region. He claims that some of them plan to stay and live in the Kherson region.
Saldo also said that Russians, Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, representatives of the Caucasus, the Volga region, the North and the Far East are allegedly now working together in the region.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the occupation of Kherson Oblast, Russia has been systematically bringing its military, officials and employees of its subordinate structures into the region. At the same time, a large part of the local population was forced to leave due to fighting, pressure and the threat of persecution.
Recall that, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, in the Kherson region the occupiers repressed 10 Crimean Tatars in one village.
