The so‑called governor of occupied Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, signed a decree on the temporary restriction of freight traffic along the R-280 “Novorossiya” highway in the direction of the administrative border with Crimea via the “Dzhankoi” checkpoint.
This was reported by Kremlin-controlled media.
The ban is in effect from May 21, 2026 until “further notice”. At the same time, it does not apply to military cargo, fuel, medicines, special equipment, and essential foodstuffs.

The restriction is likely related to successful strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian logistics in the south. The R-280 highway is one of the key supply routes between the occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhia region, and Crimea.
Earlier it was reported that in Henicheska Hirka on the left bank of Kherson, servicemen of the SBU Special Operations Center “A” struck the headquarters of Russian FSB officers and destroyed a Pantsir-S1 air defense system. About a hundred Russians were killed or wounded.
