The so-called governor of Kherson Oblast, Volodymyr Saldo, said there is a need to investigate the causes of migratory birds’ deaths in the region and suggested that this may be connected to the so-called “Ukrainian biolabs”.
He said this in an interview with a Kremlin-controlled media outlet.
According to Saldo, there were allegedly recorded cases of cranes, rooks and other bird species dying in the region. He said these incidents need to be investigated and may be linked to the activities of “biolabs” in Kherson and nearby settlements.
He provided no evidence or confirmed data to support these claims.
It should be noted that during the occupation of Kherson, when the city was under Russian forces’ control for nine months, the Russians still failed to find the so-called biolabs that Kremlin propaganda had been talking about. However, after the city’s liberation, claims about them reappeared in the media space.
Earlier, Saldo demanded that the Russian Federation check the “biolabs” in Kherson for hantavirus.
