Investigators of the National Police of Ukraine have charged the deputy commander of an artillery reconnaissance division for armament of the Russian Armed Forces, Illia Didovych, who threatened to kill a resident of the Kherson region.
This is reported on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to law enforcement, Didovych served as part of the 227th Artillery Brigade of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces and took direct part in the occupation of the Kherson region.
Thus, in early March 2022 the units of the occupying forces took positions on the territory of the Mylivska community of the Beryslav district.
Already on March 10 Russian servicemen forced employees of the local village council to gather in the House of Culture in the village of Mylove. Among those present was the head of the culture department, who was ordered to go up to the library on the second floor of the building to put things in order.
As soon as the woman entered the library, Didovych began to aggressively express dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian authorities, after which he moved on to direct threats. He put a pistol to her chest and threatened to kill the woman if the Armed Forces of Ukraine caused harm to other Russian servicemen during their movement through the region.
When the victim began to cry from fear for her life, Didovych continued to hold the weapon near her chest and make threats.
The investigation established that these actions caused the woman significant and prolonged psychological suffering.
For this, Illia Didovych is suspected of cruel treatment of the civilian population, which is a violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Earlier we wrote that the SBU announced suspicion against a native of the Kherson region who collected aid for the Russian army.
