The Lexus LX vehicle that pro‑Russian activist, militant of the so‑called “LPR” and representative of the occupation special detachment “Hrim” Artur Kantsir stole in October 2022 in Kherson has been finally recognized by the Russian judicial system as the “legal” property of the marauder.
This was revealed by court registers and Russian information sources.
It concerns events of October 2022, when, on the eve of the retreat of Russian troops from the right-bank part of Kherson region, Kantsir illegally appropriated a black 2010 Lexus LX SUV that belonged to a Ukrainian citizen. The car was “seized” in the Shumensky neighborhood near the “Metelytsia” cafe.
The lawful owner attempted to recover his property through the courts established by the occupiers. In September 2024 the so‑called “Kherson City Court” unexpectedly upheld the Ukrainian’s lawsuit. The judges then found that the vehicle had left the owner’s possession illegally, and that the purchase‑sale agreement and the receipt allegedly showing receipt of 1 million hryvnias provided by Kantsir were forgeries.
However, Kantsir later appealed the decision. After lengthy reviews, in December 2025 the occupation appellate court overturned the previous ruling in favor of the militant, and in 2026 the Second Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction of the Russian Federation finally denied the Ukrainian citizen the return of the vehicle. Russian justice predictably sided with the marauder, justifying this by the fact that the lawful owner of the car is located in territory controlled by Ukraine.
Artur Kantsir was born in the settlement of Zelenivka. In 2012–2013 he helped the now‑dead collaborator Kyrylo Stremousov carry out pro‑Russian actions in Kherson. Participants in these events ran around the city with flags of Russia, the Russian Empire and calls to revive the latter.
Also, from activists of this movement the first detachments that captured local authorities in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts were formed. They were preparing for similar scenarios in Kherson as well.
After the outbreak of the war in the east, Kantsir went to fight against Ukraine as part of the “Viking” detachment of Russian neo‑Nazi Oleksiy Milchakov. He took part in the capture of Debaltseve in Donetsk oblast.
In August 2015 Artur Kantsir, as part of a reconnaissance‑sabotage group of militants of the so‑called “LPR”, almost blew himself up on Ukrainian mines in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska in Luhansk oblast. He then sustained a minor wound.
In 2022, after the start of Russia’s full‑scale invasion, he joined the special forces of the occupation police of Kherson region “Hrim”, and before the de‑occupation of Kherson he fled to the left‑bank part of the region.
In 2023 he became head of the secretariat to the head of the unlawful Kherson Regional Duma.
