Russian security agencies announced the completion of the investigation into the alleged assassination attempt on the so‑called governor of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, which took place in 2022.
Occupying media report this.
According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, among the accused in this case are three local residents.
Occupying sources also claim that in 2022 Saldo was poisoned, and ricin — a toxic substance that is listed in the Chemical Weapons Convention — was detected in his biomedical samples.
Recall that information about the possible poisoning of Saldo appeared in August 2022. Initially he was treated in Simferopol, where he was placed in a medically induced coma, and then flown by special aircraft to the N.I. Sklifosovsky Research Institute in Moscow.
Saldo was treated for several weeks, after which he again began to appear in public.
In 2023 he told occupying media that a person from his close circle who “was bought for very large sums of money” was involved in his poisoning. According to some reports, he may have been poisoned by a cook and a maid.
