Over the past day, Russian forces in the Kherson region attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders on the island of Velykyi Vilkhovyi.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian units successfully repelled the attack. In total, 31 combat engagements took place in the South during the day.
As of 08:00 on November 9, 25 assaults on positions and 6 combat engagements were recorded.
During the day the enemy carried out more than 450 strikes on Ukrainian positions, expending nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition. About twenty settlements near the front line also came under fire.
