Russian forces are attempting to land on Bilohrudyi Island, have resumed assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge and continue to shell Kherson and surrounding areas, but most of the islands in the Dnipro estuary remain under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated on air by the spokesperson of the southern grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, writes Ukrinform.
He noted that the Russians attempted to land on Bilohrudyi, but the attempt was unsuccessful. Activity was also recorded on the islands Velykyi Vilkhovyi, Zabych and Nestyga in the southern part of the estuary.
“The enemy renewed assault actions on our position near the Antonivskyi Bridge after several days of regrouping, and already from the morning began attacks”, – Voloshyn said.
He added that the Russian army is not reducing its fire activity: they are using numerous drones over Kherson and surrounding communities, continue artillery shelling of the right bank of the Dnipro, and also strike populated areas to the south and below the former Kakhovka dam with unguided air-launched missiles.
Earlier we wrote that Ukrainian marines captured two Russian servicemen during another assault attempt on the left bank of the Kherson region.
