Russian artillery hit a house in Kherson on which a memorial plaque to Fedir Zabotin — the director of the former Kherson Shipbuilding Plant — was installed. As a result of the strike, the plaque was completely destroyed.
This was reported by MOST journalists.
The shelling took place the day before. Shell fragments and the blast wave damaged the building’s facade and the memorial plaque itself.

Fedir Zabotin headed the Kherson Shipbuilding Plant during the Soviet period and is considered one of the key figures in the development of the local industry. A memorial plaque in his honor was installed on the house where he lived.
The story takes on a particularly symbolic character, since Fedir Zabotin’s granddaughter — Oksana Barnash — after the occupation of part of the Kherson region went to work for the Russians and is cooperating with the occupation administration.
In June 2023, Barnash was charged with suspicion of collaborationism. Later she and her husband left for Russia.
