Russia allocated 23 million rubles to clean rivers and banks that it itself destroyed on the left bank of the Kherson region.
This was reported by occupation media.
According to the illegal Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Fisheries, approximately 75% of the funds are allocated to cleaning rivers, and 25% — to establishing shoreline demarcations, water protection zones, and protective coastal strips.
It was previously reported that after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP many mines could have entered the Black Sea, which can now drift to the coasts of neighboring regions and even other countries.
Moreover, in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region a municipal enterprise discharged sewage into the sea with pollutant levels exceeding the norms. As a result, the Sea of Azov sustained damages amounting to hundreds of thousands of hryvnias.
Ukrainian authorities reported the threat of the Sea of Azov’s extinction back in May 2022. One of the reasons for this is the Russian bombing of “Azovstal”.
