Russia allocated 23 million rubles for cleaning rivers and banks that it itself destroyed on the left bank of the Kherson region.
This was reported by occupation media.
As reported by the illegal Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Fisheries, approximately 75% of the funds are directed to cleaning rivers, and 25% — to establishing shorelines, water protection zones and protective coastal strips.
Earlier it was reported that after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP many mines could have gotten into the Black Sea, which can now drift to the coasts of neighboring regions and even other countries.
In addition, in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast a municipal enterprise discharged sewage into the sea with pollutant levels exceeding the norms. Because of this, the Sea of Azov suffered damage amounting to hundreds of thousands of hryvnias.
The Ukrainian authorities reported about the threat of the Sea of Azov’s extinction back in May 2022. One of the reasons for this is the Russians’ bombing of “Azovstal”.
