In 2026 Russia plans to recruit about 300 residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region into its forces.
This was reported by the spokesman of the Southern grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladyslav Voloshyn in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, similar plans exist for other temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine, in particular from Zaporizhzhia region — about 530 people, from Crimea — over 3.5 thousand, from Sevastopol — approximately 750 people. In addition, Russia is trying to recruit residents of the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“According to our intelligence, the Russians are trying to recruit under contract nearly 67 thousand people in 2026 to replenish the units and subunits of their Southern Military District”, – said Voloshyn.
Earlier we wrote that Russia “included” the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into the Southern Military District and plans to start a new wave of mobilization.
Also, we note that the RF will carry out mobilization measures throughout the entire calendar year.
