A female resident of the Kherson region was notified of suspicion of fraud over “cleansing rituals”.
This was reported on the page of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to investigators, the woman, reportedly via TikTok, convinced the victim of an alleged “curse” and the need to perform a special ritual of “cleansing” and “establishing protection”. For this, the woman from the Kherson region demanded that money be handed over to her, which were supposedly to be used for the ritual and later returned.
However, as law enforcement established, the suspect did not plan to return the funds and appropriated the victim’s money in the amount of nearly 40,000 hryvnias.
The woman is suspected under Part 1 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
