The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law that introduces preferential calculation of length of service for judges who work in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including in the Kherson region.
This is reported by Russian propaganda outlets.
According to the document, time worked in unlawful judicial bodies in the seized territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk will be counted toward professional service at double the rate.
It should be noted that the activity of occupation courts is considered illegal, and employees of these institutions bear criminal liability. Thus, a former Crimean judge who headed the occupation court in Kherson was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
