Russian President Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded the eliminated Nova Kakhovka collaborator Volodymyr Leontiev.
This is reported by Russia-controlled media.
Leontiev was awarded the Russian Order of Courage.
The initiator of the award was the occupation governor of Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo. He also wanted to name a street in Nova Kakhovka after Leontiev.
Recall, Leontiev was blown up using an explosive device by members of the Resistance Movement. This happened on October 1, 2025.

In March 2022 gave the order to Russian troops to abduct and torture the mayor of Beryslav, Oleksandr Shapovalov, for which Valeriy Leontiev was sentenced to 15 years.
In April 2022 Leontiev received a charge of collaborationist activity. In the summer of the same year he was charged with involvement in the abduction of journalist Oleg Baturin.
In 2024 Leontiev was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the unlawful imprisonment of a journalist of the Kakhovka newspaper, the mayor of Tavriisk and the secretary of the Nova Kakhovka city council.
