Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that allows housing without an identified owner to be recognized as state or municipal property in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including Kherson Oblast.
This was reported by Russia-controlled media.
According to the law, “ownerless” housing will be transferred to occupation authorities, and thereafter these apartments and houses are planned to be handed over to local residents who have lost their homes or whose dwellings have become unfit for habitation as a result of hostilities.
In addition, until January 1, 2028, the law allows providing such residential premises to employees of the occupation authorities and institutions subordinate to them, including educational and medical establishments.
