The so-called head of the department for educational work with prisoners of the captured “Northern Correctional Colony No. 90”, Oleksandr Yanenko, has been notified of suspicion on two counts.

According to the prosecutor’s office, on May 31, 2022, 36-year-old Oleksandr Yanenko was appointed to the position of head of the department of the social-psychological service of the department for social-educational and psychological work of the penal institution captured by the Russian Federation.
The appointment order was signed by the so-called head of the occupation administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service for Kherson Oblast Yevhen Soboliev. He had served as the head of the colony even before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, and later went into collaboration, and even received a title from Putin.
Yanenko is suspected of state treason and voluntarily holding an illegal position in a law enforcement body created by the occupation authorities.
