A 52-year-old resident of occupied Crimea was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison for collaborating with the Russian authorities and supporting the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, in September 2023 the man took part in the illegal elections to the so-called Kherson Regional Duma as a candidate from the “United Russia” party. After receiving the mandate he became deputy head of the committee on finance and budget.
In this position he participated in public events supporting the occupation authorities and Russia’s decisions. He also delivered humanitarian aid to Russian military personnel and was involved in issues of their supply and social support.
The court also prohibited him for 15 years from holding positions in government bodies, local self-government, and structures that provide public services.
According to MOST, this concerns Enver Abdurayimov.
In 2009 he worked as a senior inspector of the Control and Audit Department in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
After the annexation of Crimea he sided with Russia and became a deputy and the head of the permanent commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea on interethnic relations and issues of deported citizens.
In 2015 he was suspected of treason and has since been listed in the wanted database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
During the full-scale invasion he traveled to the occupied territory of Kherson region allegedly on humanitarian missions.
