The occupation administration of the Kherson region approved a new regional “law” that regulates the field of burial and funeral affairs in the occupied territory.
This is stated on the website of the pseudo-administration.
According to the text of the document, responsibility for creating and maintaining burial sites is assigned to local administrations. They must create specialized services that effectively become monopolists in providing the guaranteed list of free services.
The document states that each resident is guaranteed a free plot for burial, as well as a minimum set of services that includes paperwork, provision of a coffin, transportation of the body, and the burial process itself.
Separate attention in the “law” is given to cash payments. The maximum amount of social assistance for burial is established, which at the time of the document’s adoption is slightly more than 9600 rubles.
The “law” also spells out rules for transporting bodies and requirements for funeral facilities. For example, the operation of private funeral shops directly in morgues or death registration offices is prohibited.
