The great-grandson of the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Leonid Brezhnev, Anton Milaev, was taken prisoner on the territory of Kherson Oblast.
This is reported by Russian media.
According to journalists, 45-year-old Milaev went to war last autumn as a sapper and by November had stopped making contact.
“As his mother Iryna Kuznetsova said, after several months word arrived — the son is being held captive on territories controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kherson Oblast”, – reads the post.
Milaev – the grandson of Galina Brezhneva, the daughter of the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee.
Leonid Brezhnev – a Soviet state and party figure who headed the USSR for 18 years, from 1964 to 1982.
During his rule, harsh Russification intensified in Ukraine, and in the early 1970s there was a large-scale wave of arrests of the Ukrainian intelligentsia and dissidents, among whom were Vasyl Stus and V’yacheslav Chornovil.
