Kherson City Court in absentia found Bilozerka resident Olha Staryuchenko guilty of collaborationist activity. According to the court, during the temporary occupation of the Kherson region she voluntarily agreed to work in an illegal authority created by the Russian occupation administration.
This is stated in the court verdict.
As the court found, no later than the end of July 2022 the woman was appointed to the position of the so-called deputy head of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Bilozerka Municipal District (the occupation’s equivalent of a community – MOST).
In the pseudo-position she performed organizational, managerial and administrative-economic functions: she organized and controlled the work of the unit, gave instructions to subordinate employees.
Staryuchenko also handled personnel selection, accepted reports on the department’s activities and controlled the maintenance of documentation. She also executed assignments from the occupation’s Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of Kherson Oblast and other illegal authorities.
The court found Olha Staryuchenko guilty of a criminal offense under part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — collaborationist activity, namely voluntarily holding a position in an illegal authority created on temporarily occupied territory.
She was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property, with deprivation of the right to hold any positions in bodies of state power, public administration, or local self-government for 15 years.
Before the full-scale invasion, Olha Staryuchenko worked as deputy head of the department of state benefits in the Social Protection Department of the Bilozerka District State Administration in 2016–2018 and 2020–2021.
