In his 82nd year of life, Honored Teacher of Ukraine, Honorary Citizen of Kherson and founder of the Kherson Physics and Technology Lyceum, Mykola Babenko, has died.
This was reported by the Department of Education of the Kherson City Council.
Mykola Babenko devoted more than 60 years to teaching. In 1989 he headed the physics and mathematics school, which the following year was reorganized into the Kherson Physics and Technology Lyceum.
He was the author and co-author of more than 20 scientific papers, held the titles of Honored Teacher of Ukraine and Excellence in Education of Ukraine, and became a laureate of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine award.
Mykola Babenko died on July 30 after a long illness. He was 81 years old.
