The Kherson City Court handed down a verdict against Kherson resident Dmytro Kutsekon, who during the occupation worked in the seized Kherson pre-trial detention center.
This was revealed in the court’s verdict.
As the investigation found, in July 2022 Dmytro Kutsekon accepted an offer from representatives of the Russian occupation administration and voluntarily assumed the position of junior inspector at Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1.
In this role he supervised detainees, monitored compliance with the schedule, enforced the “regime,” etc.
Interviewed witnesses confirmed the fact of Kutsekon’s cooperation with the occupation authorities.
In particular, one of the witnesses said that Dmytro Kutsekon was his neighbor and, according to him, wore a Russian military uniform, came to the yard together with servicemen in a KAMAZ truck and openly supported the Russian authorities. The witness also noted that Kutsekon threatened him, promised that “the FSB would come after him,” after which Russian servicemen indeed came to his home with a search.
Moreover, according to the witness, Kutsekon spoke negatively about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and took part in the so-called referendum organized by the occupiers.
The court in absentia found Dmytro Kutsekon guilty under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – collaborationist activity. He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all his property.
Earlier it was reported that the court fully acquitted Oleksandr Cherenkov from Donetsk, who was mistakenly accused of participating in the war on the side of the Russian Federation in the Kherson region.
