The amount of monthly cash assistance for honorary citizen of the Kherson community, Volodymyr Mykolayenko, has been increased.
The relevant order was signed by the head of the Kherson MVA, Yaroslav Shanko.
From January this year Mykolayenko will receive a monthly payment of 4 323 UAH. Previously he received 4 000 UAH per month.
The former mayor of Kherson, Volodymyr Mykolayenko, was kidnapped by Russian forces on April 18, 2022.
In May 2025 information appeared that the former mayor of Kherson had refused an exchange in favor of a seriously ill captive. This happened back in 2022. After his refusal, the Russian side no longer included him in the lists for exchange.
On August 24, 2025 Mykolayenko was released from Russian captivity. In September he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the Kherson Community.
