The Kherson District Court in absentia found Henichesk entrepreneur Maksym Pokas guilty of collaborating with the aggressor state and illegal authorities in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
The verdict was published on the website of the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
According to the investigation, Pokas, who was previously registered as a sole proprietor in Ukraine, by January 13, 2023 obtained a Russian passport and registered as an individual entrepreneur in Russia at an address in Henichesk.
From June 1, 2023, in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region he concluded and fulfilled a number of state contracts totaling over 1.1 million Russian rubles with the occupation authorities of the Russian Federation, including with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Kherson region and enterprises under its control.
His activities involved providing maintenance and restoration services for cartridges and office equipment to ensure the operation of these structures.
The court found Pokas’s actions intentional and in violation of Ukrainian law, and sentenced him to 4 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property.
In addition, he was prohibited from holding positions in state authorities, local self-government bodies, enterprises, institutions, and organizations of state and communal ownership for a period of 12 years.
It is known that Maksym Pokas was registered in Ukraine as a sole proprietor from April 2015 to April 2023 and was engaged, in particular, in repairing computers and peripheral equipment.
In October 2024, Maksym Pokas was suspected under Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
