300 educators from Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, among them more than 250 teachers from communities of the Kherson region, took part in a week-long training marathon held in Odesa.
This was reported in the organizers’ press release.
It is noted that teachers underwent intensive training in catch-up education methods, in particular knowledge diagnostics, lesson planning, and working with students who have learning gaps. They also covered issues of psychosocial support for children, safety during the war, and digital literacy.
Coordinators of educational centers were trained in team management, reporting, organization of the educational process, and the use of digital platforms that AIDE implements in communities.
«We are grateful for the opportunity to attend this training and to understand how we can effectively work with our children, and where to obtain the necessary resources that can be used to make up for educational losses. I am a history teacher, and the stock of knowledge I have gained I will take with me and will be able to share with our students and colleagues», – said Larysa Rybachuk, coordinator of the Educational Center in the village of Myroliubivka in the Kherson region.
From November, 10,000 schoolchildren in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions will be taught according to the developed methodologies. The program will last six months and is being implemented with the support of the European Union and the government of the Republic of Korea.
The training is organized within a project to overcome learning losses, implemented by UNICEF and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education (AIDE). The program is aimed at supporting children who, because of the war, do not have the opportunity to study fully in person.
