The Kherson City Court found Ukrainian citizen Svitlana Huz guilty of state treason; during the occupation of the city she held the position of head of the social policy department in the unlawful military-civilian administration of Kherson, and sentenced her to 7 years of imprisonment.
This is stated in the relevant court verdict.
According to the court, in May 2022 the woman voluntarily agreed to work in the occupying authority.
Her actions were classified under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — collaborationist activity.
Huz’s guilt was proven on the basis of documents of the occupation administration, eyewitness testimony and other case materials.
In addition to imprisonment, the court imposed an additional punishment — deprivation of the right to hold positions in government bodies and to engage in public activities for 10 years, as well as confiscation of all property.
As a reminder, the suspicion against Huz was announced by the National Police of Ukraine in October 2024.
