The head of the occupation administration of the village of Ahaymany of the Ivanivska community in Henichesk district, Halyna Kostenko, received a sentence for collaborating with the Russians.
This is stated in the court verdict.
As the investigation found and the court confirmed, in 2022 she voluntarily accepted an offer from local collaborators and took the post of the occupation head of Ahaymany.
According to the investigation, Kostenko organized and coordinated the repair of the road in the villages of Ahaymany and Shotivka and helped the occupiers set up a feldsher station and recruit personnel for it.
In addition, according to Ukrainian law enforcement, Kostenko is linked to the abduction of Kherson State University student Anna Yeltsova, and to threats of deporting local children.
Witnesses interviewed who lived in Ahaymany said that Kostenko implemented in the village the rules, regulations and requirements established by the occupation authorities, forced local residents to go to work and obey the occupation administration’s orders, and resorted to threats if they refused.
The court in absentia found Halyna Kostenko guilty of collaborationism (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
