The SBU has notified of suspicion the occupation-appointed head of the territorial department of the Oleshkinsky municipal district (territorial unit established by the occupying authorities, equivalent to a community — MOST) in the village of Kostogryzovo, Yevhen Cheban.
The text of the suspicion was published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in the pseudo-position Cheban organized the work of subordinates, carried out personnel appointments, ensured the material-technical and financial functioning of the illegal authority, and also managed issues related to the community’s livelihood.
The investigation established that Cheban also organized the settlement of Russian military personnel into the homes of citizens who had left the village.
Yevhen Cheban is accused under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — collaborationist activity, that is, the voluntary performance of organizational, managerial, and administrative-economic functions in the authorities of the aggressor state on temporarily occupied territory.
