The Russian-controlled prosecutor’s office of the Kherson region reported the transfer to court of a criminal case against 47-year-old local resident Olena Nishanova. She is accused of espionage.
This was reported by Russian-controlled media.
According to the occupying authority’s office, in April 2024 Nishanova allegedly collected information about the movements and locations of military equipment and personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. These data, as the occupying forces claim, she passed on to representatives of Ukrainian intelligence.
It is claimed that the collected information “could have been used to carry out fire strikes” against the locations of Russian military personnel.
The woman is charged under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. She could face imprisonment for a term of 10 to 20 years.
