In the Kherson region, they plan to increase the number of tourists from the current 50,000 to 520,000 per year by 2030.
This is reported by the occupying authorities of Kherson region.
In addition, the number of employees in the tourism sector is to increase from 500 to 1,700 people, and the sector’s share in the region’s economy — from 2% to 3.2%.
To this end, the occupying authorities of Kherson region have developed a six-year program for the development of tourism and the hospitality industry, which supposedly provides for construction and modernization of infrastructure, increasing the region’s brand recognition and staff training.
Before that, the illegal authorities claimed that this year the left bank had supposedly been visited by about 100,000 tourists, but 90 percent of them are relatives and acquaintances of Russian servicemen who are fighting in the temporarily occupied territories.
At the beginning of December, the occupying authorities said that the left bank of Kherson region lacks hotels, recreation bases and campgrounds.
Despite all statements, the occupiers are not cleaning the beach in Henichesk Hirka on the left bank of the region.
In September 2025, the occupiers announced “beach improvement” in the Kherson region for 340 million rubles. 344 hectares across 18 sites are supposedly to receive “modern infrastructure”, and they plan to spend over 340 million rubles on tourism development by 2027.
