In the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, a Russian court sentenced a 31-year-old resident of the Oleshky community to 13 years in prison for “state treason”.
This was reported by the occupation prosecutor’s office of the Kherson region.
According to the Russian investigation, in 2023 the man allegedly established contact with a representative of Ukrainian intelligence and began collecting information about the locations of deployment of Russian military equipment and personnel on the territory of the Kherson region.
The occupiers claim that in February 2025 he transmitted this data via a messenger to his handler, and the obtained information could allegedly have been used for strikes against Russian forces.
The man was found guilty of “state treason” and sentenced to 13 years in a maximum-security penal colony. In addition, the occupiers imposed a fine of 350,000 rubles and a restriction of liberty for one year and six months.
Earlier it became known that the occupation court in Kherson region handed down a verdict regarding a local married couple – they were illegally convicted of “state treason” and “illegal circulation of explosive substances and explosive devices”.
