On the left bank of the Kherson region, the occupation court sentenced a 61-year-old resident of Kakhovka to 19 years in prison for allegedly publicly calling for extremist activities.
This was reported by the occupation court of Kherson Oblast.
According to the occupying authorities, the man painted inscriptions and images on a monument and at stops in Kakhovka from February to May 2024. They classified these actions as «extremist».
It is reported that during the hearing the man pleaded guilty. The occupying authorities also said that in June he had already received a sentence for «hooliganism, vandalism and attempted attacks on the lives of law enforcement officers».
Taking the sentences together, the occupation court sentenced him to 19 years of imprisonment: three years – in prison, the remainder of the term – in a strict-regime colony. A fine of 100,000 rubles was also imposed.
Earlier it was reported that the occupying Kherson Regional Court sentenced a man to 12 years in prison to be served in a strict-regime colony for allegedly spying for Ukraine.
