In 2025 the occupiers appropriated 18 beach areas with a total area of 344 hectares on the left bank of the Kherson region.
This was reported by the occupation’s Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the region.
It is noted that two beaches in Henichesk and Skadovsk have already been handed over to the management of illegal local administrations, and the remaining 16 sites are being prepared for transfer.
“After formalization, all beaches are planned to be organized and put into economic circulation to develop the region’s resort and tourism potential”, – the post says.
Recall, in summer 2025 the occupation governor of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, announced an increase in tourist traffic on the left bank of Kherson Oblast – however, most are families of Russian servicemen.
Earlier Saldo acknowledged that there is no demand for tourism services on the left bank of the Kherson region.
And in summer 2024 he stated that the tourist season in the Kherson region before Russia’s full-scale invasion was much better.
At the same time, the Kherson region itself, due to Russian aggression, risks turning into an environmental disaster zone. The environmental damage to the region to date has reached over UAH 159 billion.
