The occupiers announced the tightening of the control regime on the left bank of Kherson region after the strike on Khorly on New Year’s night.
This was reported by the occupation governor of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo.
“Certainly, it is worth strengthening security measures. We all live in a region where martial law is in effect, and it’s too early to relax”, – Saldo said, not specifying how exactly they would strengthen “security measures”.
Recall, on the night of December 31 to January 1, 2026, in Khorly the restaurant “Ukrainian Khata” and the hotel “Leo”, located nearby, were attacked. Occupation sources reported the alleged death of 24 people. Later the number of victims increased.
Saldo promised to show the names of all civilians who died in Khorly. However, he later stopped publishing lists of victims who died in Khorly on New Year’s night, citing that it is impossible to identify everyone.
It is known that among the dead was the head of the occupation police of Kalanchak, Serhiy Bogan.
