In the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region, the Russians published the recruitment conditions for the so-called volunteer battalion BARS “Kherson”, the creation of which was earlier announced by occupation governor Volodymyr Saldo.
Occupation structures are sharing the information about the conditions on social networks.
The battalion is recruiting citizens aged 20 to 64.
Candidates must have a military service fitness category A, B, or V under the Russian medical examination system.
It is noted separately that the unit is inviting women with relevant medical education.
It is claimed that the mission of the BARS “Kherson” battalion will be the protection of “critically important life-support facilities” of Kherson region. The occupation authorities also promise that the unit will carry out tasks outside the line of combat.
To attract volunteers, the Russians are offering a 12-month contract and pay ranging from 210 to 240 thousand rubles. In addition, they promise combat veteran status, social benefits, and preferential counting of years of service for pension eligibility.
Earlier, MOST reported that the occupation governor of Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo announced the creation of the BARS “Kherson” battalion. The unit is planned to be used to guard roadways and the land corridor between Russia and occupied Crimea.
Note that recently Ukrainian drones have regularly carried out strikes on Russian military equipment and on logistical routes in the occupied territory of Kherson region, particularly in areas that provide connection to the Crimean peninsula. It is against the backdrop of these attacks that the occupation administration has stepped up the creation of new formations to counter drones.
