The occupation authorities are preparing Russian soldier Maxim Korostelenko for the position of first deputy to the so-called Minister of Youth Policy of Kherson Oblast.
This is reported by occupation sources.
It is noted that Korostelenko became a finalist of the Russian project “Heroes of Kherson Region”. The idea of the project is to involve Russian military personnel who took part in the occupation of Ukrainian territories in working in illegal bodies in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT).
According to the Russians, Korostelenko went to fight against Ukraine in 2022. He served as a mechanic-driver of a T-80 tank. He was wounded. He has a medal “For Services to Kherson Oblast”.
In 2023 Korostelenko became the deputy to last year’s so-called Minister of Youth Policy of Kherson Oblast Ihor Astranin, and later he himself also performed the duties of the pseudo-minister.
In March 2024 he married at the Henichesk civil registry office, which operates under Russian standards.
In 2025 he took part in the project “Heroes of Kherson Region”, and is currently undergoing an internship as first deputy to the Minister of Youth Policy of Kherson Oblast Vladyslav Yarchenko.
