The Kherson City Court found Zinaida Nikolaeva, the head of the Henichesk Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity in Henichesk, guilty of voluntary cooperation with the occupation administration and integrating the institution into the Russian education system. The court sentenced her to six years of imprisonment without confiscation of property.
This was reported from the verdict of the Kherson City Court.
According to the court decision, Nikolaeva took the position of «director» of the illegally established institution in the temporarily occupied territory and registered it with the Federal Tax Service of Russia. She approved the «charter» developed by the occupation administration, hired teaching and technical staff, organized the change of the center’s name and Ukrainian symbols to Russian Federation symbols, and also ensured the payment of salaries in rubles.
The court credited the time of pre-trial detention from July 31, 2025, toward the sentence and prohibited Nikolaeva from engaging in educational and upbringing activities for 10 years.
Zinaida Nikolaeva expresses remorse for what she has done, the verdict states, and admits her guilt.
