A 34-year-old resident of the Kherson region was notified of suspicion for public calls to change the borders of Ukraine and for justifying Russia’s armed aggression. He was placed in pre-trial detention — held in custody.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, for a year the man systematically disseminated materials via his personal account in one of the internet applications in pro-Russian public groups that justified the temporary occupation of the Kherson region. His comments were public and accessible to a wide range of users.
In his posts the suspect spread pseudo-historical claims about the “Russian city of Kherson”, which was allegedly “occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces”, called for its “liberation”, and for the capture of other cities in southern and eastern Ukraine. He also publicly approved the actions of the Russian army and expressed support for the Russian Federation.
During a search of the man’s residence, law enforcement officers seized mobile phones from which the unlawful content was disseminated, a Mavic-type drone, and hard drives.
Recall that investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine announced suspicion to the former deputy of the Kherson Regional Council Heorhiy Harkusha, who became a pseudo-deputy in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) of the Kherson region.
