The Kherson City Court sentenced Roman Nalyvany, who during the city’s occupation voluntarily headed a municipal enterprise of the Russians. For collaborationist activities the man will spend 9 years behind bars.
This is stated in the relevant court verdict.
The investigation established that in September 2022, when Kherson was under the temporary control of the Russian Federation, Roman Nalyvany agreed to the occupiers’ proposal and took the position of director of the so-called DCP «Housing Maintenance Office No. 1 of the Suvorovskyi District of the city of Kherson».
According to testimony from the enterprise’s employees, Nalyvany at a staff meeting stated that he is now the leader, and demanded that subordinates obtain Russian passports and open accounts in Russian banks for further work.
Witnesses recall that he publicly convinced colleagues that «it will be better under Russia than it was under Ukraine».
The court found Roman Nalyvany guilty of committing the criminal offense provided for in Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity related to the performance of organizational and managerial functions).
According to the court decision, the man was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all his property and a ban on holding positions in government bodies and municipal institutions for a term of 14 years.
Recall that in the autumn of 2023 the Russians accused Nalyvany of fraud
Roman Nalyvany – a native of Rozdilna in the Odesa region, he lived in Odesa.
In 2020 he tried to secure the position of deputy head of the Sarata District State Administration of Odesa Oblast.
