The Kherson City Court in absentia found Yurii Rozhov guilty of collaborationist activities as the head of the occupation’s legal work department in the illegal law enforcement body “Tax Service of the Kherson Region” and sentenced him to 15 years imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
This was stated in the court’s verdict.
According to the court, in June 2022 during the temporary occupation of the Kherson region the accused voluntarily took the position of head of the legal work department in the illegal law enforcement body “Tax Service of the Kherson Region,” created by the occupying authorities.
During the trial the court examined written evidence, documents, inspection protocols and witness testimony that confirmed the fact of Yurii Rozhov holding a leadership position and performing his official duties in the interests of the occupying authorities.
Yurii Rozhov was found guilty of collaborationist activities. The court sentenced him to 15 years imprisonment and also deprived him of the right to hold positions in state authorities and law enforcement agencies for 15 years.
Before the full-scale invasion Rozhov held the position of head of a unit at Northern Correctional Colony No. 90 in Kherson.
In 2018–2019 he worked as a chief specialist at the Main Territorial Department of Justice in the Kherson region.
In 2020 Rozhov worked at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine as head of the judicial work and international cooperation sector in the Kherson region. Also during this period he was the chief specialist of the same sector.
Since 2021 Yurii Rozhov worked in the Southern Interregional Administration of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. He held the position of head of the judicial work and international cooperation sector in the Kherson region.
