On the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson region, the Russians announced the creation of the “volunteer battalion” BARS “Kherson”, which is to engage in countering Ukrainian drones.
This was announced by occupation governor Volodymyr Saldo.
According to the occupiers, the new unit will combat drones and will also protect critical infrastructure, roads and the land corridor to Crimea.
To staff the battalion, they plan to recruit volunteers and equip the unit with counter-UAV systems.
Earlier we wrote that in the Sokolohirne area of Kherson region GUR drones destroyed Russian equipment.
Prior to that it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a fuel tanker on the land corridor to Crimea and trucks at the exit from the occupied peninsula in the Chonhar area.
In connection with this, Saldo signed a decree on the temporary restriction of heavy vehicle traffic on the R-280 “Novorossiya” road.
