Preliminary voting of “United Russia” has started in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region.
This is stated on the website of the occupation administration of the region.
The preliminary voting will take place in electronic format.
“The procedure will allow determining candidates from “United Russia” for the elections to the State Duma, which will also be held in the region for the first time”, – says the post.
It is claimed that Olena Dmytruk, the first deputy of the occupation head of the Kherson Regional Duma, was the first to submit documents for the primaries.
Dmytruk is the widow of former MP from the Party of Regions and Kherson Regional Council deputy Mykola Dmytruk, who died in 2021.
Before the full-scale Russian invasion and occupation of Kherson region, she owned PJSC «Khersonlift», LLC «Zernokom Agroyug», the Construction Structures Combine and the Trading House «Yantar». These business assets of the Dmytruk family are located in the de-occupied part of Kherson region.
In September 2023, based on the results of the Russian pseudo-elections held in the occupied part of Kherson region, Olena Dmytruk became a deputy of the Kherson Regional Duma created by the Russian occupiers.
At the first session of the occupation Kherson Regional Duma, Olena Dmytruk was elected first vice-speaker.
According to Russian registries, Olena Dmytruk is the head of three organizations: LLC «Novokakhovskyi Bread Factory» (she is also the founder), Kherson Regional Consumer Union, Trade and Procurement Consumer Cooperative «Novokakhovskyi».
The National Police of Ukraine reported suspicion to Olena Dmytruk of state treason committed during wartime.
Earlier we wrote that the Russian Federation is preparing to hold elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region. Voting is scheduled for 20 September 2026.
Ukraine and the international community have repeatedly emphasized that any Russian “elections” in temporarily occupied territories are illegal and their results have no legal force. Organizing and participating in such events constitutes aiding the occupiers and entails criminal liability.
